Join us on April 16th at 6pm to learn more about becoming a resource (foster) family dedicated to supporting LGBTQIA2S+ youth in foster care as well as information about understanding the unique needs of this population and the supports available to help them and their resource families. Youth with lived experience, resource families, and mental health professionals will be present to speak on this topic and answer questions you may have. This session will be presented virtually via Zoom and you can participate from anywhere in Oregon.

It all started when…
Fostering Pride held its first virtual recruitment event in October of 2022. Prior to that event and even the COVID-19 pandemic, a group of Multnomah county professionals came together in support of LGBTQIA2S+ youth and young adults impacted by Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice to improve their experiences. A judge's bench card was created to better inform judges and in person foster parent recruitment events were held at the Portland Q Center to share about becoming a foster parent and to hear directly form foster youth and families. Now heading into 2024 and a more virtual world, our recruitment efforts continue with Fostering Pride events quarterly held on zoom. We hope to see you at the next event!
